We have been open for worship for several months now. In fact, our doors , at 2nd Presbyterian, have never been locked on Sunday Morning. We didn’t advertise that we were there, but people came. The word was preached. We have been blessed.
Because the virus is so much more prevalent in the Cambria/Somerset area, and particularly in Cambria, we are going to take a precaution during our worship time on Sundays until this rise goes in reverse.
Jesus said, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Some will be more concerned than others about the virus. We must be concerned about that other person who is concerned and not prevent their comfort worshiping our LORD Jesus in His Kingdom. We are asking you now to wear a face mask into the church building until you sit down. Then you may remove it if you wish. After our worship of the LORD is over and you get out of your seating area, we would like you to put the mask back on until you leave the church building.
We will be using every other pew to avoid having someone directly behind you.
Wearing masks into the church building has nothing to do with avoiding fellowship with each other and extending our hospitality to any new person within our midst. If you see it as a precautionary thing for the other person you will have done as unto the LORD.
Again, we have made arrangements to bring our Sunday sermon to you on video. The first Sunday of each month we serve communion. You can join us as you watch our video or listen to our podcast. Have a glass of grape juice or water and a bit of bread on hand as you watch our sermon. We will have Holy Communion together after the sermon. You can see the video by logging on to Facebook and searching for 2nd Presbyterian Johnstown or going to https://www.facebook.com/2ndpresbyJtown/
Also, you can continue to hear Art’s and Pastor Jack’s messages on our podcast. If you would like to be on our e-mail list send an e-mail to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will stay in contact with you via e-mail throughout the week.
Psalm 27:1. The LORD is my revelation light to guide me along the way, he’s the source of my salvation to defend me every day. I fear no one! I’ll never turn back and run from you, Lord, surround and protect me.
